Often we need to have some Anchors to bind ourselves to when we hit a bad patch. Some anchors are harmful and self destructive and top performance coaches help us to discard what is harmful and begin again with more positive anchors that help us improve our lives, realise how lucky we are with what we have and encourage us to move forward to achieve great things in our lives.
I learned about Anchors at a Tony Robbins seminar…. and below I share some video and audio that gives you a clue what mine maybe. As we use tools to uplift ourselves then we can move forward.
So I start with Rocky Balboa….. on taking the hit and moving forward:
Our family love Rocky. We ran a Karate Club and the kids and I watched lots of 80′s films on martial arts but Rocky was our family time…. the main plot of the original film was based on the famous fight between Muhammad Ali and Chuck Wepner at Richfield Coliseum in Richfield, Ohio on March 24, 1975. Wepner had been TKO’d in the 15th round by Ali, but nobody ever expected him to last as long as he did. Wepner recalls in a January 2000 interview, “Sly [Stallone] called me about two weeks after the Ali fight and told me he was gonna make the movie.”
Whatever people think of Sylvester Stallone…. his determination and effort to make this film, star in it and get a slice of the royalties deserves a movie of its own.
And in the video clip above – Rocky shares his wisdom with his son – definitely worth a look.
Tony Robbins – Music To Lift You Up
When I first went to Unleash the Power Within, I was absolutely gobsmacked……. within a couple of hours of attending the seminar I was a FIRE WALKER! Yes, I walked across burning flames, shouting those immortal words : “COOL MOSS” !! Since that day I think I have done it 3 times. An amazing feeling to have those hot coals beneath you and confidently stride across!
So being able to Fire Walk, tells me I can overcome anything!!! So writing emails out to thousands of people doesn’t seem that much of a barrier to me now!
Anyway, watch Oprah Winfrey do it:
I guess we are all inspired by music at some point in our lives. It is only when I listen to tracks of old that I realise how important they were to me at the time.
This track was from a Tony Robbins Seminar that always seems to lift me up……
- A Seventies Band Of West Indian and African heritage taught me that it is my birthright to be happy and I rejoice that I found them in 1970.
I have always listened to Santana…… this track Caravanserai is my current favourite and I get uplifted each time I listen to it.
So these are some of the things that I enjoy and uplift me…… What uplifts you? What positive anchors have you got. Why not share them in the comments below and perhaps someone else may feel inspired by your choice?
