How To Be Successful
I see so many people have an idea that they want to succeed with an online network marketing business, but so few actually get their business off the ground.
So what does it take to be successful in any venture? Well, today I thought it might be a cool idea to share my thoughts and the thoughts of others.
After all, success is in the state of mind. How do you measure success? What are you willing to do to achieve it?
Here are some great Jim Rohn quotes about Failure and Success;
“Success is not to be pursued; it is to be attracted by the person you become.
Failure is not a single, cataclysmic event. You don’t fail overnight. Instead,
failure is a few errors in judgment, repeated every day.
Don’t take the casual approach to life. Casualness leads to casualties.
Success is the study of the obvious. Everyone should take Obvious I and Obvious II in school.
It’s too bad failures don’t give seminars. Wouldn’t that be valuable? If you meet a guy who has messed up his life for forty years, you’ve just got to say, “John, if I bring my journal and promise to take good notes, would you spend a day with me?”
Success is not so much what we have as it is what we are.
Success is 20% skills and 80% strategy. You might know how to read, but more importantly, what’s your plan to read?
Average people look for ways of getting away with it; successful people look for ways of getting on with it.”
Who am I to argue with the great man!
We have discussed how you should create your online credibility with a blog and that it is vital to provide positive contribution around the internet through social site networking and forums etc. This way, just as Jim suggested, people become attracted to you and as you develop your online skills and spread the word this happens more and more.
So as you contribute your sphere of influence grows.
I have also shared this before: success comes from good judgement, good judgement comes from experience, experience comes from bad judgement.
Again we can relate that to the way Jim Rohn, who was the ultimate network marketing coach, says that failure is the result of a process over time, so success can be too.
I am sure you are aware of the insight from Lao-tzu, the great chinese philosopher who said; “A Journey Of A Thousand Miles Starts With a Single Step.”
This is true of any objective we may have of course, but it definitely applies in our online network marketing business. Start with a big ambition but chunk it down to achievable steps. Start small to achieve something big.
I have attended a number of seminars given by Tony Robbins, the master communicator and life enhancement coach. He said this:
“If you want to be successful, find someone who has achieved the results you want and copy what they do and you’ll achieve the same results. “
In previous posts I have shared with you that one of the things you need to look for in an online network marketing business is a sponsor who has the tools and experience to help you succeed in the beginning so you can share your experiences with others and complete the circle. Network marketing or MLM is unique in this way as it incentivises others to help you achieve excellent results.
So look for the best and mirror their approaches and you will get to a point where people are looking to follow your success.
Remember the Frank Kern mantra? “The money is not in the list or the relationship with the list.
It is in the value you give to your list.”
Well listen to this from Tony Robbins, “If you want the ultimate competitive advantage in life and business
it is to create raving fan customers.”
It is especially true with network marketing. You need to be really passionate about finding ways to add
value to people’s online businesses. By doing that, you will add value to their lives also. There is so
much personal development in network marketing and this can enrich peoples lives in many, many ways.
In fact, Tony Robbins has said that the best and most successful people have “created a
way to add more value to your life than anyone else is adding,”
The other thing that will effect your chances of succeeding is your work ethic and your determination and your passion to succeed.
Today I was reminded about the great wisdom of Will Smith.
He stated:
“I have never really viewed myself as particularly talented. Where I excel, is ridiculous, sickening work ethic. While the other guy is sleeping, I’m working, while the other guy is eating, I’m working”
I never really achieved anything at all before I got that principle. That you need to work hard to achieve your goals, whether they be business goals or goals that benefit our well being. You simply cannot expect things just to happen because you wish them to happen.
The key is in the action…and lots of it!
It is also important that you are not put off by any little hurdle that comes in your way. Believe me, I have been at the point of giving up on my dreams many times. But it is at that moment that the doors of opportunity open up to us.
It is at the point of frustration and significant challenge that solutions appear.
So hard work is important. So too is balance. That success in any field does not become to be such an obsession that you fail in your family or social life.
Well. That’s it. I hope you have found some enlightenment in this post. That you have seen or felt something within it that sparks something inside of you to move up to the next level.
It is what this blog is all about. I just want you to have success. I just want to enable as many people to achieve a full time income from their online network marketing business as possible.
I believe you all can, if you haven’t already. It’s just a question of application, determination, following
the pattern of others who have done it before you, giving of yourself to others and being part of the random acts of kindness the internet can offer millions of people.
I would welcome your comments and would appreciate you sharing this content to your online social circle.
Enjoy a successful and abundant life!

Peter,
You could expand this blog post into many. You have presented so-o many valuable quotes from people that are unquestionally leaders in knowing how to succeed, motivate, teach and be an example for others to follow. As I write this, I realize that for me the very most important quotes are:
“Success is not so much what we have as it is what we are.”
“Success is not to be pursued; it is to be attracted by the person you become.”
The questions I continually ask myself are: Who Am I? Am I the kind of person that has something valuable to offer? What is it about me that attracts the trust and confidence of others? What are my areas of weakness, insecurity, judgment and pettiness and small thinking that may be blocking me from my success?
Thanks for a great post and a reminder to myself.

Hello Peter,
Loved your post. You had really good quotes but I especially like the quote,”success comes from good judgement, good judgement comes from experience, experience comes from bad judgement.”. I love this quote with a passion. Its a continual circle that keeps happening and you learn and grow from it. Just like a successful business, you try something new, see if it works, if it does you continue to use it until it either stops working or need something new. And by second nature we continue to do that over and over. Success definitely has many definitions but in my opinion, you can use your experiences and skills to create a new definition of your personal success.

Hey Peter
Wonderful post here, very motivational and filled with great quotes from many well known names of people. nice little package all tied into one post. I do find that quote with Will Smith kinda humorous though. You pointed out a lot great things here and I tend to live by some of these. I have a lot of motivation built inside of me to not believe in failure.

Hello Peter,
You are an inspiration to us all!
You are absolutely right that action is key!
We need to think positively and retain self-motivation, but unless this is followed by action, we achieve nothing. Persistence is key.
All best wishes,
Diane
Hi Peter,
Linda
I love all of the wonderful quotes in your post!
And it is interesting how there are so many traits to success, but one of the key ones is the good ole “work ethic!” Are we willing to do what it takes to be successful? And how I could relate, “It is at the point of frustration and significant challenge that solutions appear.” While some things come about smoother than that, I have had those mind-boggling times where at the other side victory happens! Then it’s time to celebrate! –with other entrepreneurs!

Pete,
It’s a really simple concept. Proactive people are success. Successful people don’t wait for things to fall in their lap, they take initiative and go get it.
