Network Marketing – A Business For The 21st Century – Robert Kiyosaki

When Robert Kiyosaki recommends you buy into a Network Marketing programme then you need to take note. Author of the famed Rich Dad Poor Dad books, Robert has declared that Network Marketing Is The Business For The 21st Century.

I first came upon Robert Kiyosaki through the purchase of his Rich Dad Poor Dad book. I heartily recommend it. It shares how his University Professor father, despite his education, saddled himself with debt with mortgages and loans whilst his Rich Dad – a friends hard working father – taught him to invest in business, property and shun the doo dads of ordinary society.

He taught of the Rich Dad Quadrant and teaches that ideally we should be in the right side of the quadrant

either a business owner or an investor.

Having a Network Marketing Business classes you as both, I believe. You own a business but you have also created a long term investment. Because your leaders, gathered over time, will build your business while you sleep.

Robert gives these reasons why you should join a network marketing company:

“The Two Essential Reasons To Join A Network Marketing Business

Reason Number One is to help yourself. Reason Number Two is to help others. If you join for only one of these two reasons then the system will not work for you.

Reason number one, means that you come to the business primarily to change quadrants-to change from the E (Employee) or the S (Self-employed) quadrant to the B (Business owner) or I (Investor) quadrant.

This change is normally very difficult for most people-because of money. The true E or S quadrant person will not work unless it is for money. This is also what causes people to not reach the top of the network marketing system: they want money more than they want to change quadrants.

A B quadrant or I quadrant person will also work for money, but in a different way. The B quadrant person works to build or create an asset-in this case, a business system. The I quadrant person invests in the asset or the system.

The beauty of most network marketing systems is that you do not really make much money unless you help others leave the E and S quadrants and succeed in the B and I quadrants. If you focus on helping others make this shift, then you will be successful in the business.

As a B or an I, sometimes you don’t get paid for years; this, a true E quadrant or S quadrant person will not do. It’s not part of their core values. Risk and delayed gratification disturb them emotionally.”
This emphasises what I have always tried to instil in my network marketing teams. Network marketing is a long term investment. You may get short term gains but you will not get long term benefits by switching companies and confusing your members and prospects. Choose right at the beginning and stick with it.

Our aim as network marketers is to leave the Employed and Self Employed Quadrant and enter into the Business and Invest quadrants. We do that by helping others do the same. This is your long term strategy.


In the video below Robert talks about a new quadrant, The Network Marketing Qaudrant. He points out that there are 4 kinds of people in this Qaudrant:

1. Those who are aways RIGHT.

2. Those who are in their comfort zone.

3. Those who want to be LIKED by those people who are RIGHT and those in their COMFORT ZONE

4. The 4th kind of people are the WINNERS. These are the Network Marketing Eagles ( a term my sponsor Raymond Sun has taught me to use) They will fly on their own and soar above the other three

Seaching for the Network Marketing Eagles (THE WINNERS) is your long term strategy if you wish to become a top earner in your network marketing company.

This is where you spend your investment of and money. Your time spent networking with successful people, online and offline, will not be wasted. As you filter out the other three types of people, or help and educate them to be winners, you will learn as you go along what works and what doesn’t. In the end, because you have viewed your business as a long term strategy, you will promote yourself through the Rich Dad quadrant and you will release your self from the Rat Race!

Robert Kiyosaki is not the only multi millionaire business person to recommend Network Marketing – Bill Gates has done so also.

These people are smart, savvy on financial and business matters. It makes sense to listen, learn and apply and then share with others.

I am not saying you will be a multi millionaire over night, but sticking with a top network marketing company, choosing the right business and a reliabe line of sponsorship will certainly take you on the road to financial independence within a 5 year period.

  3. I have to agree with Jacs, the quadrant is such an easy concept to follow and see how it fits within us all. I guess some have a business mind and can see their way in their own business, and others have a dream but no real capacity to implement a plan.

    I have found network marketing to be a bit of a seiving operation. Providing support for all and accepting the natural wastage that seems to be a by product of the industry.
    People either fall away because they don’t like to be uncomfortable, get tempted by other things or just lack patience and drive.
    Now and again, you come up with a Winner, a Network Marketing Eagle. When that happens, the rewards come with little effort at all.

    This was a great post. I think Robert makes so really great points about why network marketing is a business but also an investment and that is the smartest plan. It must be said that there are many other wealthy people who are in full support of MLMs including Warren Buffett, Donald Trump and Richard Branson. When this many people who are successful business owners are in support of network marketing it is time to pause and think they may be on to something. So glad I’m in this great biz!

    Excellent post, Pete, and something I have been on about for ages…

    I think a really BIG – H U G E – point that many people miss is this…

    When they look at the Cash Flow Quadrant, they internally use it to identify where they are at, while they see the four clearly defined classifications…

    However, the wonderful thing to realise is that anybody can share in any of these pieces of the action, be in ALL or any combinations of these if you want! The segments are not mutually exclusive, so an Employee can also be an Investor, and so on…

  13. Hey Peter a great post about a fantastic book/author.

    When I read it I found the 4 Quadrants very useful and challenging. I am grateful I am moving away from employee and into Business Owner/Investor.

    I totally agree with the 2 reasons for joining a business. And the bit I love is helping and working with others.
