What’s It All About?
This Blog is becoming more than just a blog about online network marketing, I guess. As I develop my business and develop my team and build up relationships with the online community, I am beginning to realise how important this stuff, what we do with our internet businesses is to each one of us.
Each of us is pursuing our dream or goals of being successful – in whatever way or form we judge that success to be. Many of the things we learn on the internet and about each other through social networking, checking out blog posts and so on, do more than just provide tools to be more profitable, more skillful, more competent, but help us to get the most out of our lives in many other ways.
We grow each day as we read and share knowledge. That is true of the giver probably even more than we who receive it. It has reminded me of the journey of the shepherd boy in the Alchemist. The Alchemist: A Fable About Following Your Dream
The Alchemist teaches us that there is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve and that is the fear of failure. The message from the Alchemist also teaches us that, “When we want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
I am reminded about Christmas. Whatever the rights and wrongs of it, when a child desires a particular present, Santa always seems to bring it!
Network marketing can deliver many things, financial independence, tools and products that can make a difference, friendships, lots of cool stuff. We can learn about business, how to use the internet, create great new communities that share great information. There are many benefits to being part of an online network marketing business. But it can also be challenging, frustrating, disappointing.
We must remember, “that every search begins with beginners luck and ends with the victor’s being severely tested.” So says the Alchemist.
So we need to remember, if we follow the Alchemist’s observations on life, that when we begin to find challenges and obstacles in front of us, we are near to our goal. I remember Tony Robbins sharing this, “when we are confused, we are about to make a breakthrough.”
Now the Alchemist is fiction, enriched with the philosophies of the author, Paul Coelho, but it is a fact, that often we give up before we get to the winning post because we are put off by the difficulties we face, people counselling us that we are crazy to do something new and different, that we should just stick with what we know, work hard at our job and be normal!
Robert Frost’s famous poem said:
“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less travelled by,
and that has made all the difference.”
I am thankful that I have learned this much, that we need to have courage to overcome challenges and obstacles to achieve your goals. Not the courage it takes to fight an external battle but courage to overcome our inner fears and defeat the overwhelm that can overtake us as we take on something new or go in a different direction. Moving out of traditional business and embracing the internet market place is no less of a challenge than any other we face.
But once we have set our goals then “you have got to find the treasure so that everything you have learned along the way makes sense.”

Hi Peter,
As your downline, I certainly would like to take your advise and be willing to share the journey with you.
I look forwards to hearing from you.
Carlos
I loved that book but I read it so long ago the take away that I recall is something totally different. I think I may have to go and read it again to see what golden nuggets lay in store for me today this many years later.
the being tested part is difficult but I think when we put it in perspective and remember all the other tests we have gone through and recognize it for that, it seems to be a little easier to welcome.

You are in the right place for sure! Best wishes Peter
Thank you for your comment, Rebecca. I agree, sometimes we can track back to our past to find wisdom for today. Often we miss or forget things. A bit like the Shepherd boy who rarely got out his Urim and Thummin but when he remembered he got the help he needed.
Take care, speak soon… Peter
Anyone who partners with Peter will be glad they did. Peter, you are a true leader and I am proud to call you a friend.

Hi Peter,
Some people’s first thought about courage involves saving lives and war and in a very real sense that is true. But really I am often surprised how much courage it takes to wake up and face the world knowing that things may not go your way. I think setting the goals and having dreams is the easy part. But when you are running down the path of success and you trip and fall and scrape your knee (or worse)…. That is when the challenge comes.
Stay courageous,
Rafael

Hey there Pete,
It really is quite interesting to see the different niches and topics you start talking about on your blog as your business grows.
I personally feel like your blog should be a personal extension of your thoughts, your passions, your business, and really just your life.
Anything that you love or are passionate about, TALK ABOUT IT HERE. lol
People will become more engaged when you really just start revealing exactly who you are to them. Its cool.

Hi Peter,
1st time on your blog, love the layout.
Great post and reference to the Alchemist, one of my favorite books, and Tony Robbins has been the biggest influence in what I do today.
One of the key lessons I learned in the Alchemist is to keep following your Personal Legend.
When Santiago goes and sells glassware for the merchant and makes a lot of money, that is the vehicle for him to follow his personal legend.
Network marketing is a vehicle and not the destination. It’s a great vehicle and allowed me to follow my personal legend but it’s only a vehicle to serve the bigger picture.
Dream -> Struggle -> Prize
Remember to keep your eye on the prize and also be grateful for the person you are becoming as you become a person of success.
Success is not what you have, it’s who you are.
Can you be counted on your word? Do you do what you say? Can you suck it up when things are not going well? How much value are you giving to others? Are you building relationships like a farmer instead of a hunter? Do you take care of your body to give you the energy you need? How are you making other people’s lives better?
Looking forward to your posts.
To Your Genius,
Eiji

Peter,
Thanks for the little “boot” in getting us all to work through the “tough times” and in not giving up. Challenges and obstacles in our lives are there for us to grow… when we grow as individuals we can handle bigger challenges and achieve greater success.
To growing and succeeding…
Thanks,
